I promised science today, and I delivered, even after bedtime! The experiment called for Epsom salt, but we didn't have any (and I was wrong thinking I could substitute table salt). So we did school, went to Target for Epsom salt, but Target didn't have tapioca flour which we need for our Brazilian cheese bread for Carnival tomorrow, so we had to go waaaay out of the way to get that. Then we went home for a nap, out to dinner with Allie since it was her birthday and the Daddies are at the Cowboy game tonight. By the time we got home, we were ready for bed, but we did the science as promised! Now off to prepare for Carnival!

Our first graph! We graphed the number of boys and girls in our family and Zoe wrote the names of everyone. Strangely, Daddy has a mustache and Mommy has red lipstick. |
I finally broke out this amazing puzzle I discovered from stalking the very awesome
Speece School. Both girls loved it.

Lucy and I played this game together. When she found the animal's house, she gave them another animal as a lovie and sang "the new flower song" so they could go night night. |

We listened to a Fancy Nancy book about the museum, so I decided spontaneously to do some art! What a bust. I let them choose a portrait to use as a guide - we couldn't find the paints so we used chalk but already had the water out. Then Zoe got frustrated because hers didn't look like the one in the book. Good times. |

The most exciting thing of the day...school shoes arrived! Shiny+sequins+athletic soles=everyone happy! |

After a month of saving, Zoe blew part of her allowance today on a "black panther fur" cropped vest. It looks awesome with summer dresses. Here we are painting black shapes with Epsom salt dissolved in water. We will see what they look like after the water evaporates! |
