Rainy Tuesday

Today is one of those days I'm glad we are not rushing out the door at 7 am on a rainy morning...we had a relaxing couple of hours of school, dance class, out to lunch with Dad, library time where we ran into some homeschooling friends, a long nap (still recovering from the weekend), and ice skating.

We learned we could either count or measure to see how many cubes in our towers.

Zoe made lots of different patterns with hers - Lucy did lots of counting.  And lots of whining at clean up time although she did like measuring to make sure we had 10 in each color stack!

Practice with sight words and handwriting - boring, but she is really enjoying it!  When she gets a sight word right consistently, she moves it off of the wall onto her ring and practices those each day.  We are combining this with 100 Easy Lessons, a phonics-based reading program.

More name practice - working on that pesky Z.  And today was the first day I noticed Lucy drawing a person - complete with eyes, nose, and mouth!

An economics (and confidence) lesson.  Zoe went up alone and bought a cookie for her and Lucy.

Puddle splashing in cute rain boots - is there a better way to spend a rainy day?
