We love Dallas! Where else can you study the rainforest one day and visit one the next (other than, um, the rainforest)? We headed to the Dallas World Aquarium with Avery for a fun and productive day!
There was a giant anteater as soon as we walked in the door! He kept licking the glass right by Lucy and Avery.
This toucan matched Zoe's rainforest cards exactly.
We got to feed the toucans blueberries. See the little green one? He stole it right out of the big one's beak!
We were anticipating seeing the sloths since we learned about them yesterday. We knew they slept 20 hours a day, and in fact, Tiger Lily, the girl, was sleeping but woke up when the worker brought out some squash for her to eat. We were disappointed they were not hanging upside down.
We saw anacondas and sea turtles...
And cool little sea horses that looked like plants. We headed to the shark tank for feeding time. It was pretty awesome! Professor Zoe is giving us a brief lecture here.
We saw the leopard as we were leaving (we hoped that he was injured as many of the animals were rescued and he did not have much room to run). Zoe was sure it was a panther but checked her card to be sure. Lucy and Avery took a nap like the leopard.
Then we pretended to be SMU students and headed to Pokey-O's where we made our own ice cream sandwiches with fresh baked cookies. Yum!
