Agriculture Class

When we visited the ranch over Labor Day, we saw two small watermelons growing near the bridge.  When we returned a month later, we couldn't believe our eyes!  Not only were they bigger, but they had our names on them!

Lucy wanted the Lucy watermelon.  Surprising.

Pappa Z used his big knife to help us cut them from the vine.

Then we sliced them open...

...and took a bite.
Between the three of us, Pappa Z and Emily, we almost ate Zoe's whole watermelon.
It was the best one we'd had all summer.

We did an experiment to see what horses thought of watermelon.
They are scared of it when we throw it and they do not like to eat it.

I think the horses are enjoying some r&r now that we are back home.
