Fall Friday

We enjoyed a perfect fall afternoon!  We met some friends on the walking trail and gathered leaves.

Zoe helped the 3 year olds identify their leaves by comparing them to a leaf chart.

We tried to find leaves of different shapes and textures.  We talked about how the green leaves were still on the tree because they hadn't stopped making food yet but the (sadly, mostly brown) leaves didn't have any more chlorophyll and fell off.  We expect more and more to fall off as it gets colder outside.

Then, we made leaf rubbings and put together a leaf collage

We played some ring-around-the-rosy

...and just enjoyed the beautiful day.

I laminated everyone's collage to use as a placemat.
It makes me miss a beautiful Nashville or Michigan fall!
